FRESHMEN CONNECT GROUPS: SEPTEMBER 21 - SEPTEMBER 30

Freshmen will meet with their school counselors in small groups to log into Naviance and begin building a resume.  View your scheduled appointment time. Please let your teacher know about your scheduled meeting before reporting to guidance.




SENIOR PARENT NIGHT, CHS AUDITORIUM, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5

PART 1 7:00 - 7:45 PM

PART 2 7:45 - 8:45 PM

·      Level 1 is for parents who have not yet put together or are beginning to put together a college list with their child.  Topics include college search criteria, how will your child’s transcript will be evaluated, standardized testing, letters of recommendation

·  Level 2 is for parents who have put together a college list with their child and are ready to apply. Topics include essay writing, how to complete applications, send transcripts, and scholarships

·      Join us to review the application process and learn the answers to frequently asked questions regarding the admissions process, Naviance, scholarships, financial aid and important deadlines.

COMMON APP WORKSHOPS - SIGN UP IN NAVIANCE

Four workshops are offered in September throughout the day in the CHS Guidance conference.  Sign up for a hands-on workshop to get started on the Common App.



PSAT/NMSQT @ CHS, OCTOBER 19

Cranford High School will be offering the Preliminary School Aptitude Test/National Merit School Qualification Test (PSAT/NMSQT) to all interested college-bound sophomores and juniors at Cranford High School on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:45 am at no cost to students.   If you prefer your child not take the PSAT/NMSQT, there is no academic or attendance penalty, but please send an email to Mrs. Lisa Burfeindt in CHS Guidance titled “PSAT Opt-Out” with your child’s name and grade by August 19, 2016.  CHS will follow a delayed opening schedule and students not testing should report to school by 10:40 am.
